This database contains more than 2000 articles. Fifty volumes of the journal "Greenland" have been scanned, indexed and provided with a search engine on the occasion of the journal's fiftieth anniversary. The Greenland Society Annuals, published in the years 1906 - 1952 have not been digitized, but a list of subjects and authors is available, since the Annual's index is linked to this data base.

The target group for this search engine is schools, educational institutions and everyone with a general interest in Greenlandic and Arctic affairs. The articles are available to everyone and can be searched and downloaded from the internet in PDF format for personal use. Quotation from the journal's articles, as well as other forms of publication must comply with the existing legislation and must contain a source reference.

The reproduction of the journal "Greenland" on the internet has been carried out in collaboration between the Greenlandic Society, Microdan A/S and Algoritmer En Gros. The entire textual material has been scanned and reproduced in a form which considers the search quality - and the varying internet connections of the users as much as possible. The journal thus appears in a user friendly OCR version without illustrations. If you wish to see the journal's original layout with text and illustrations, you have to click on "PDF file", and every single page is shown in full format with black and white images of limited quality.
